Stepping Stones – a project to inspire community action

5 October 2022

Launching August 2022 from the LRPFA, introducing Stepping Stones, a new project aiming to inspire communities across Leicester City, Leicestershire and Rutland to look at their local green and blue spaces in a different way.

Residents in communities will be working with the LRPFA to see if there are ways to improve current provision to help increase the mental and physical health and wellbeing of their residents.

Green space is the collective name given to areas such as woodland, playing fields, forgotten open spaces and much more! These could be areas which could benefit from a community orchard or perhaps some seating or physical activity equipment.

Blue space refers to waterways, ponds, rivers, canals – anything relating to open water. Perhaps you would like to give paddle boarding a try but there isn’t an obvious access point? Or maybe you would like to learn more about how to swim in open water safely?

The project will be open to individuals as well as existing sports clubs / physical activity providers.

Full criteria and the application form can be found below.
