Volunteer Student Educator

At Warning Zone our fabulous team of volunteers help educate children to keep themselves safe. Volunteers take small groups of children through lifelike scenarios and educating them on hazards they may encounter online and offline such as fire, building sites, alcohol, road, railways, arson, knife crime, grooming, posting photographs online, phishing, cyber-bullying to name just a few. Full training will be given, and we recommend visiting to shadow an experienced volunteer which is a great way to find out more. Our volunteers range from age 16 to 80+ and come from all walks of like. A retired school teacher volunteer said "I missed the interaction with the children and Warning Zone gives me the opportunity to use my skills in a really meaningful way, that can impact on the children's lives and help them to weigh up the risks to make sensible judgements. It's also totally flexible and a fun place to be with lovely team members!".

Skills

Excellent verbal and listening skills. Ability to engage with children. Willingness to learn and be part of a team. Due to the nature of the role, volunteers must be fluent in English language and an enhanced DBS check with children's barred list information is required
