For Rutland Pretty Muddy to be a success, I am looking for the below roles!
- Volunteer Marshals: in this role you will be supporting our participants around the lovely 5k route within The Rutland Showground, by being the events teams eyes & ears on the course, providing directions, offering support and encouragement and using our "super soakers" and buckets to help manage our obstacles and get the participants extremely muddy! Full on the day briefings will be provided.
- Start/Finish Volunteers: As a start/finish volunteer, you would be helping us to get our start and finish lines ready, then helping to set our participants on their way around the course, then ensuring they all get their medal, water and snack at the end of their event, whilst helping to encourage them over the finish line but also keeping the area tidy. Full on the day briefings will be provided.
- Admin Managers: As an Admin Manager, you will be fully briefed both before the event and on the day, as you will be the central hub for participant questions, replacement running numbers and on the day sign ups!
If you have a preferred role in mind, submit the application to Volunteer at the below link and include the role in the comments. We always try our best to match your skills with the role!

About Cancer Research UK Events
The Cancer Research UK Events Team are looking for more wonderful volunteers to support us at our Race For Life, Pretty Muddy and Shine Night Walk Events. Race For Life began in 1994, with Shine following in 2010 and Pretty Muddy then bringing up the rear in 2014. At all of these events, the events team rely heavily on volunteer support to give our participants the best experience possible, and in that, we try our best to make sure our volunteers also have a great time volunteering. The roles a volunteer could be undertaking on our events include Volunteer Manager, Admin, Start/Finish Volunteer and Marshal.
