Cafe Assistant

There are plenty of opportunities to working in our café, from in the kitchens where you can get involved in food preparation, cooking, baking and washing up, plus our front of house gives you an opportunity to look after customers with barista service, cakes and food orders.

You will be required to assist to serve food and clear tables, restocking fridges and freezers including tidying shelves and storage. Empty bins, cleaning the kitchen including all equipment, floors and walls and to sanitise work surfaces.

Good communication and customer care service skills are essential to our volunteering roles. Being able to work as part of a team environment and with the general public is essential. Volunteers must share the ethos and values of an environmentally friendly organisation and be prepared to use their own initiative at times to get the work done. Volunteers must be respectful of others and flexible in their attitude to work. Volunteers must be able to take direction and contribute positively to the overall running of the organisation. The purpose of all volunteer roles is to assist in the day-to-day effective running of the organisation and to ensure all our customers receive an excellent experience with great customer satisfaction, at every visit to our shop and café.

All training will be provided in house and there is an induction programme for all volunteers. All we ask is that you have the enthusiasm to learn and a desire to succeed.
