Advisory Board member

The Advisory Board is the public face of Healthwatch Rutland. It determines the strategic direction of the organisation and ensures that our operations are transparent and accountable.

Members of the board help Healthwatch to represent the public voice based on the evidence and insight we gather through research and public engagement. They represent us at various meetings and community events as agreed.

Board members also make decisions on the work priorities of the organisation.

Board members are asked to assess and advise on agreed topics or areas of interest of health and social care, to help members stay informed and to fulfil their role.

Training and support are provided and we ask you to sign up to a code of conduct to support your role.

Advisory Board members will: - Have an interest, experience or knowledge of health and social care. - Be good communicators and able to engage with a wide range of people. - Be able to play an active role at board meetings and contribute to the discussion and policy decisions. - Have an understanding of the importance of public and patient involvement in health and social care service planning and provision. - Be public spirited and inclusive as the role of the organisation is to listen to people’s experiences, especially those seldom heard, in our community.
